Secure FTP Gives Enhanced Data Protection

With standard FTP connections, none of the files being transferred to and from a web server are encrypted, and more importantly, neither are the account passwords.

At Risk

This means that not only is it possible to intercept valuable data, but also the website itself is at risk from “man-in-the-middle” hacking attempts. The most common cause of unauthorised website access is via unsecure FTP.

128-bit SSL Encryption With Trusted Authority Certificate

With the introduction of SSL FTP, all data including passwords and usernames is now encrypted during transmission to and from the SMR Media servers, thereby affording unrivalled security.

SSL Connections Mandatory

To ensure that none of our accounts are compromised, as of September 10th 2005 we no longer support unencrypted FTP connections (existing clients see bulletin 0510 or contact customer support for technical assistance). We suggest upgrading older FTP programs; CuteFTP Professional and WS_FTP Pro are both recommended.
